Why a page for Partners?
There are many
transgendered (TG) girls who will never tell their partners about
their transgendered feelings. This is very common, and understandable.
It's up to each and every individual to decide for themselves if they
can tell their partners, if they want to tell them, and when the best
time is to do it. But we regularly get emails at Sí from transgendered
people who wish to tell their partners and are unsure of how to approach
it. We also are contacted by TG girls who have told their partners and
have either had a good response, and their partners would like to know
more and meet others, or a response that is not all that one would wish
for, and the TG girl is unsure of how to proceed. Finally we may occasionally be
contacted by Partners themselves wanting to know more. This page is for
all of you and we welcome any correspondence, which will be strictly
confidential and we do not require your real name(s). We do not as yet
have any plans for partners evenings (but would consider it if demand
warranted it) but partners are welcome to go to Tranniehaven in the
Gemini club on Saturday nights.
Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ) by Partners
Here is a list of some of the
most commonly asked questions by transgendered people's partners. If you
are a partner with questions that don't appear here, feel free to
email Sí (remove the ssspammm from the address name) in total
confidence. We could even publish your question on this site
(anonymously if you wish) if you allow it, along with our reply to help
other partners.
Anna -
The
wife of an Irish TV writes.
In what we hope will only be the
first of many such contributions, the wife of Sí member Paula Stone
has very kindly volunteered to offer her thoughts on being the wife of a
transvestite. Anna's article may be of benefit to other partners, and
their TG significant others. You can contact Anna by emailing Sí.
Kate and Martha - TV and wife both
write
In a new piece, published June 2006, both TV Martha and wife Kate
write about what it was like when a TV reveals themselves to their
partner after many years into their relationship. Many thanks to both
Martha and Kate for their wonderful, honest pieces.
