Ingersoll Center: A full range of services to gender dysphoric clients such as referrals to therapists, support and peer counseling pertaining to issues of daily living, changes in lifestyle, preparation for surgery, and post-operative care. We offer support groups in a friendly, low-stress setting where cross dressing is encouraged, but never required.

Inside Intersexuality: People born apparently in-between what are known as "normal" (average) sexes, within a physical sense (males with male genitalia and females with female genitalia). There are those who appear to be males but are medically/biologically females, and others with female physical attributes that are medically/biologically males. There are also some whoís external sex is indeterminant, as well as those of us having appearances of both, externally, and having the DNA chromosome karyotypes of both sexes.

Looking Glass Society: A non-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and acceptance of Transsexual/Gender Dysphoric people. It publishes a range of booklets concerning the condition and engages in education work, particularly aimed at people involved in caring for or working with those with Gender Dysphoria. Based in the South-West of England, so many of our publications reflect a UK perspective. We hope they will still be interesting to non-UK readers, though!

Remembering Our Dead There is no ìsafe wayî to be transgendered: as you look at the many names collected here, note that some of these people may have identified as drag queens, some as heterosexual cross dressers, and some as transsexuals. Some were living very out lives, and some were living fully ìstealthî lives. Some were identifying as male, and some, as female. Some lived in small towns, and some in major metropolitan areas.

Note about the above link: There are transgender sites all over the Web. Those of us who are part of this community--cross dressers, transvestites and transsexuals--have created pages and sites where we can express ourselves and chat with each other. But our loved ones have been pretty much left out of all this. Even sites that have some support, often require you to start at a TG person's Home Page that has a beautiful (but possibly upsetting) photograph at the top, not this one.

Transgender at Work: 03/26/00 Transgendered people suffer tremendous discrimination in employment.  Indeed, it's part of our culture that if you admit to cross dressing, or plan to change your sex, you'll be automatically fired. But all that is changing.
